EARLY YEARS SWIMMING 10 YEARS ON

Ross Gage was honoured to present during the recent United States Swim Schools Conference in Orlando.  Jointly with Florida Swim School’s Kate Cassidy, they addressed what steps have been made by the Industry in general and swim schools in particular to utilise the findings of Griffith University’s ground-breaking Early Years Swimming Study.

The Report, released in 2013 by Professor Robyn Jorgenson, showed young children regularly participating in quality swimming lessons were well ahead of their peers on many important milestones – effectively, they were significantly more ‘School Ready’. Ross and Laurie Lawrence were the Industry consultants for the four year research project.

Ross was inducted into the USSSA’s Hall of Fame in 2017.
